Mountain Meals – Nourishment for Every Trek

Food The Most Essential Part of Trekking

We understand how crucial proper nutrition is during trekking. That’s why we pay great attention to the food served on our tours.

Mount Ararat Trekking

Meal Preparation and Our Chefs
Our chefs prepare meals using fresh, locally sourced ingredients carefully selected from local markets. These ingredients are transported to the mountains by horses or mules.
All our chefs are experienced professionals who have worked in local restaurants and have years of expertise in cooking in mountain environments.

Daily Meals During Trekking
Throughout your trekking tour, we provide:

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch (or a packed lunch to carry)
  • Dinner

We prioritize foods that are easy to digest, such as bulgur, pasta, and potatoes. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also served daily.

Meat is served in limited quantities since it is harder to digest at high altitudes. On the day before reaching the summit, we typically serve a vegetarian dinner.

Sample Menu

  • Breakfast: Tea, coffee, juice, bread, butter, jam, honey, cheese, eggs, sausages, olives, fresh vegetables, oatmeal (on Mount Kazbek).
  • Lunch: Tea, coffee, juice, biscuits, dried fruits, nuts, fresh fruits (apples, pears, watermelon, grapes).
  • Dinner: Soup, bread, pasta, bulgur, potatoes, baked chicken or beef, fresh vegetables.

Every morning, we also provide a packed lunch (water, juice, chocolate, cookies, or a sandwich) for you to carry and enjoy during breaks.

Vegetarian, Vegan, and Special Diets
Traveling as a vegetarian or vegan can sometimes be challenging, especially in destinations where meatless diets are uncommon. However, if you choose us, you won’t have to compromise your dietary preferences during trekking or skiing tours.

We offer vegetarian and vegan meal options:

  • For breakfast: Muesli or granola with soy/coconut milk, peanut butter, dried fruits (apricots, dates, figs), tofu.
  • For dinner: Whole wheat pasta, vegetarian lecho, grilled vegetables, bulgur with mushrooms or lentil curry.

We can also accommodate other dietary needs, such as gluten-free or diabetic diets. Rest assured, we carefully balance the calories in our meals to ensure you have the energy needed for challenging climbs, such as summiting Mount Ararat or Mount Damavand.

Special Requests
Please inform us of any specific dietary requirements and provide a list of foods you can and cannot eat at least two weeks before your tour. This allows us to prepare the most suitable menu for you.
